Crystal Creek Stables

Riding Lessons

Crystal Creek Stables offers riding lessons to adults and children of all ages and abilities.   We tailor our lessons to fit your individual needs and goals! Whether you are just interested in learning to ride for a hobby, or looking to compete; looking to just start riding, or have ridden but looking to get more advanced riding!

We offer a $15 introductory lesson, to everyone interested in taking lessons at CCS. This is a private 30 minute lesson, to evaluate your riding level, and find out more about your goals. This is also a way for each student to see if CCS is where they would like to continue or start their riding career.

Our lesson program is suited for Beginners to Intermediate riders in western or english style riding. Our focus is on english riding, in lower level dressage and starting over jumps. We also have access to 120 acres of adjoining property for trail riding. We specialize in teaching the basics of riding, balance, and confidence so you can be safe and enjoy riding in any area you choose from trail riding to reining to dressage and jumping.

Our program is suited for children 6 thru adults. Whether this will be your first time riding, or you are getting back into saddle, we are here to help you reach your goals!

For Young Children (ages 6 to 7) we offer a fun learning atmosphere for learning to ride! Simple games (with a twist) such has simon says, mother may i, and red light - green light are great for teaching the basics of riding!

For Older Riders we offer a laid back atmosphere for learning to ride, and enjoy the sport. Although we do go to local horse shows, we focus on improving our own individual students, and not on competetition. We also offer the chance to go trail riding!

We can accomadate clients with special needs. Horseback Riding is an excellent therapuetic tool, and helps on so many levels!

We adapt our lesson program to fit each students needs, and learning styles, and to your goals.

Our head instructor, Anne Allen, has been riding since she was able to sit up! Anne took lessons with her aunt as often as she could and started taking weekly riding lessons at Cornerstone Farm in Mocksville at age 16. Anne has been taking dressage and jumping lessons, and has worked with several different instrutors/clinicians. In addition to taking lesson Anne has competed thru first level dressage, local shows, and competed in barrel racing / pole bending.

Anne started her teaching career, at age 14 assisting a instructor at a barn in Mocksville. By 16 her responsibilities included: instructing lessons, lead instructor of summer camps, birthday parties, and therapuetic lessons. In 2005 Anne started Crystal Creek Stables, and started teaching lessons on her own. Anne has worked with children as young as 4 in lessons and adults into their 50s, of all abilities. (Including special needs - autism, cerebal palsy, downs syndrome, ADD/ADHD, and more) while volunteering for local Therapy Programs, inlcuding HorsePower.
