OUR HORSES:

First off, we would like to say that without our horses we would not be here! It takes an exceptional horse to be a lesson horse. Lessons horses are subject to multiple riders, riders that are just beginning, and usually get mixed signals from riders. It takes a great deal of patience to be a teacher, and lesson horses are teachers!!

Now the introductions!...

Calypso

Calypso is our Friesian/Warmblood Stallion, although he is not currently standing for public stud. Calypso is training for a dressage/ combined training career. Although he is a stallion, and only 5 years old, Calypso is like an old pro, and is not upset by very many things. Calypso is used occassionally for adult lessons only, esp. more advanced riders looking to jump or do dressage. (We do not allow students to show Calypso) .

Soldier

Soldier is out of Anne's first horse, Morena, and her aunts Stallion, Forever Soldier. Since both his parents have passed, Soldier holds a very special place in our hearts. Soldier is only 5, but people often think he is much older because he is so mature. Soldier is a great asset to our lesson program, from helping beginners that are nervous to more advanced students starting in dressage and jumping. Soldier is available for students to show.

Katrina

Katy is a great all around lesson horse. Katy has some dressage training, jumps, and also does western riding, including running barrels. Katy LOVES trail rides, esp those that involve water (like going to the river). Katy is currently being half leased, and is used for a limited number of beginner lessons.

Sky

Sky is Anne's dad's horse. Sky has one blue eye, and one partial blue eye. She is a 6 year old Tennesse Walker. Sky is used on a limited basis for lessons and trail riding. Sky is great for someone that is wanting to learn to ride western, and is looking for a smooth ride. Sky is occassionally used for beginners. Sky loves her "dad" and enjoys going on long trail rides :)

RGR Coming Up Roses

Rosie is reserved for only a select few lessons. Rosie is a very sensitive mare and requires a gentle hand. Rosie is a great dressage mover, and is very talented, she just needs some refreshers to get her ready for showing. Rosie enjoys going on trail rides, esp. when her best friend Katy is along for the ride too.

Calypso's Princess

Picture
Calypsos Princess, aka Princess, was a surprise baby born April 2009. At this time Tia is a glorifed pasture ornament adored by all. Tia will be started under saddle in 2012. Tia has a great personality and shows natural talent for dressage/jumping, along with being a level headed trail mount. We are excited to watch Tia grow up!

Reba's Texas Belle

Picture
"Reba" is our newest addition to our horse family. Reba is a 15.2hand, 5 year old, Paint Mare. She has been shown in western pleasure. Reba is a great all around mare, had is available for english and western riding lessons. Reba is Anne's moms horse, and is a great trail mount. Reba is available for students to show, but is not available for a lease by lesson students.

RIP Morena - The first, the best, the PERFECT HORSE!

Words can not describe how much Morena meant to us, and how devasting her departure was, but we know she is where she can run free, graze endlessly, and waiting at the gates for us to come and ride her to heaven. Morena barrel raced, competed in pole bending, and reining in her younger days. Then Morena and Anne met, Anne feel in love, convinced her dad to buy Morena. After Anne purchased Morena she added lesson horse, therapy horse, jumping, dressage, and teaching all ages to enjoy horses to her resume. Morena helped so many, young and old, overcome their fears of horses, and learn to enjoy and see how relaxing riding can be. Morena was the first in so many ways, and will always be number 1. No matter how hard we looked, how far we traveled you could never find a better gal.
