OUR HORSES:

First off, we would like to say that without our horses we would not be here! It takes an exceptional horse to be a lesson horse. Lessons horses are subject to multiple riders, riders that are just beginning, and usually get mixed signals from riders. It takes a great deal of patience to be a teacher, and lesson horses are teachers!!

Now the introductions!...

Calypso

Calypso is Anne's little baby (ok... he's not that little). Calypso is a Freisian/Warmblood Stallion, and although he is only 4 years old, he is like an old pro. He is pampered like a king, and is always getting the royal treatment. Calypso is used for more serious adult riders looking to ride dressage or start over fences. Calypso is Anne's show horse, and attends local dressage and combined training shows. Calypso is also used for trail riding. Although he is young, and still a stallion, he has a remarkable attitude and is very willing to please!

Soldier

Soldier is very Special to both Anne and David. Soldier is out of Morena, which was Anne's first horse, and is the one that taught David everything he knows. His sire (dad) was a stallion owned by Anne's Aunt, who was Anne's favorite horse growing up. Now that both, his mom and dad have passed on to greener pastures in heaven, Soldier holds a very special place in our hearts. Soldier is now a part of our lesson program. He may only be 4 but he has a been there done that attitude, and we have done a lot of desentitizing work with him. Soldier will also be starting his show career this fall (2009). We will introduce Soldier into lesson for adults only at this time.

Katrina

Katy, as she is known around the farm, is the DIVA! Katy has been with Anne for about 4 years now. Katy was donated, with Souix, to Anne to be used in the lesson program. Katy at first was very hot headed and did not understand how to just relax under saddle. Katy was always wanting to just run, run run, and had no idea how to behave in the ring. Over time, with lots of work, Katy has become our number one lesson horse! Katy is great with the beginners and has the knowledge to work with more advanced students! Katy is a diva, and does like to have all eyes on her!! (an important fact to remember when riding her!)!

Sky

Sky is Anne's dad's horse. Sky has one blue eye, and one partial blue eye. She is a 6 year old Tennesse Walker. Sky and Anne's dad have a unique bond, of trust and caring. Sky is always looking for Anne's Dad to come, and is sad when he doesn't. Sky knows each of the vehicles that John drives, and will pace the fence when he arrives until he comes to get her. Sky is occasionally used for lessons, she is great on the trails, and does well for the birthday parties. Oh And she LOVES cookies!

RGR Coming Up Roses

Rosie, is another new addition (April 2008), bought in foal to a Friesian. Rosie has had her foal, FireCracker. Rosie has now been added to our lesson program. She is great for the students both in the ring and on the trail. She is a great show prospect for the students interested in showing. Rosie has a natural dressage talent. We enjoy having Rosie has part of our program.

Tiquila Night

Picture
Calypsos Princess, aka Princess, is our new addition born April 2009. Princess was unplanned foal, but is a a precious little filly. Princess is sired by Calypso and out of Sioux. We were very worried about the possible complications that could accompany this unplanned pregnancy, but we were very fortunate and had no complications. Souix is a wonderful mom, and Miss Princess is very independent! She is full of personality, and she is undoubtly Calypso's daughter!

RIP Morena - The first, the best, the PERFECT HORSE!

Words can not describe how much Morena meant to us, and how devasting her departure was, but we know she is where she can run free, graze endlessly, and waiting at the gates for us to come and ride her to heaven. Morena barrel raced, competed in pole bending, and reining in her younger days. Then Morena and Anne met, Anne feel in love, convinced her dad to buy Morena. After Anne purchased Morena she added lesson horse, therapy horse, jumping, dressage, and teaching all ages to enjoy horses to her resume. Morena helped so many, young and old, overcome their fears of horses, and learn to enjoy and see how relaxing riding can be. Morena was the first in so many ways, and will always be number 1. No matter how hard we looked, how far we traveled you could never find a better gal.
