Summer Time! 07/13/2010
Whew! It is HOT and HUMID these days! The horses are enjoying their new fans! We are finished with summer camp other than our lesson student only camp; Our summer camp was a blast, we had lots of fun, riding, and learning. Our campers did GREAT and really learned a lot about horses and riding, and all are planning to attend next years camps and any day camps we have during the school year! We are in the middle of hosting the Thomasville YMCA summer program, twice a week. Everyone is having fun, riding and learning horsemanship education. We are glad to be offering riding to the YMCA and the oppertunity for these kids to be around horses. Due to the heat and hectic summer schedules we have not attended any shows this summer, but looking forward to attending some fall open and dressage shows. We will be cutting back our lesson program starting in the fall, but we will still offer a limited number of lessons to new students. We will still be offering Pony Parties, and Day Camps. We hope everyone is enjoying their summer! : 1 Comment Spring Is Here!! and Happy Easter!!! 04/02/2010
We have been enjoying this change in weather! Loving the sunny, warm, PERFECT riding weather! We have been able to get in lessons every week/weekend, for the past several weeks, a nice change to squeezing in a lesson here or there when it wasn't raining or snowing! Two of our students, attended their first dressage show in March, and we are VERY PROUD of their scores and performances! Congraulations Madison and Ilana. We are looking forward to more dressage and open shows this year. We have had a lot of birthday parties in March and April, and hope they continue to grow! David has taken over reserving birthday parties, and overseeing all parties. We are excited about some new changes around the farm! We are in the process of putting up a new wooden fence along the driveway and road (literally, David is out there as I am typing this update). After we complete the fence, we are looking forward to do a little grading and clean up around the farm. All the horses are doing well. Soldier has really become an asset to the program, attending shows, lessons, and trail rides! Calypso is also being used in the program, and doing great in his training sessions getting ready to start his 2010 show season. All the girls are doing well, and tia is really growing up fast. Cracker , now Fonzie, is doing great in his new home and has settled in well. We wish Everyone a safe and Happy Easter! It's been a while.... 12/11/2009
It has been a while since we posted a blog entry! Since out last blog entry we have entered into WINTER, and it is COLD! BRRRRR.... On Dec. 6th we attended the Mocksville Christmas parade, and David and Katy took the spotlight in there John Deere Themed out fit! Soldier and Anne, Rosie and Zack, and Sky and Lou also attended the parade. All the horses were very well behaved! We also have some new riding students to welcome to the Crystal Creek family. This is our slow time of the year, between weather and Holidays, it is getting harder to schedule and keep weekly lessons! We are pleased to have such dedicated students though, that come out to ride even in the 30 degree weather! We are looking forward to starting the 2010 show season! This year we will have students showing in dressage and jumping classes too! We are very excited to have more students interested in showing! We would like to wish EVERYONE a HAPPY HOLIDAY Season, and also safe travels to all!! Kittens ... 08/16/2009
A stray cat decided to have kittens in our barn, in the back of Soldiers stall. After she realised we discovered the kitttens, she moved all but one black male. We adopted the kitten, and took him to the vet. We are unable to devote the time needed to care of such a small kitten (approx. 2 weeks of age), a good friend of ours (Joe and Diane) took him in as a foster. They have raised kittens before, and several orphan kittens, and are better able to care for this little guy "who has no name" at this point. We will keep everyone updated on his progress!! :) Summer is winding down... 08/07/2009
Well, summer is slowing down, Our Summer Camp is over, school will be back in session soon, and before long the leaves will be changing. We have had a successful summer, with lots of new lesson students (children and adults). Our Summer Camp was a blast, with lots of riding. We have had several birthday parties - which are always memorable! And we had a great time showing at some local shows! Fall is on the way, and more excitement to come. We have several events planned, including horse shows, a possible fall camp, and an October Festival for our "family". Happy 4th and New Updates! 07/04/2009
