On Friday the 10th - Souix FINALLY had her foal. It is a beautiful little filly - and there is no question who the daddy is! She is just like her father, from her looks to her movements, to her attitude! Photos are on the Fun at The Farm Page!

On Sunday we had another surprise! Daisy, the goat, also had a little independent girl!

although we are very glad to see the rain, we would like to see more days like today, PERFECT weather for riding! We had a wonderful lesson this morning! The girls practiced ridign and also learned about checking their horses vital signs! We are gearing up for shows this summer, so hopefully we will get more perfect riding days!

Business has been booming this year! Our new location in lexington is great! We are very central to Winston Salem, Clemmons, and Mocksville. Birthday parties have been a huge hit this year, so please book your party early! Although we only require 7 days notice, with our calander filling in fast, you will want to book your party early ! Summer Camp is filling up fast too, If you are interested, sign up now, don't miss out on a space in camp! We are considering adding a second camp!

Well, I'm off to ride Calypso and take advantage of this gorgous day!

One of our long time students, Madison, has started jumping! We are so proud of Madison for starting her jumping career, and she is loving it! Madison Jumped Miss Katy for the first time, and the following weekend, jumped with Mr. Dancer. We have some pictures that show how well they both have done, but Madison doesn't want to show them off... we might just do so anyway! ... We hope to encourage Madison to do some jumping at some shows this year! Way to Go Madison!

Kelsey, another long time student, one of our few western students, is doing great! She has been riding Sky, and Sky has started to give her a little attitude, but Kelsey, being the true horsegal that she is, does not let Sky frustrate her or when the battles! They will test each others knowledge and skill, and will also learn and grow together!

Sidnee, one more long time student, was really working well with Sioux ( and then sioux became pregnant!). Sidnee is now working with Rosie, and they are a great pair. Rosie is really helping Sidnee fine tune her skills, as Rosie forces you to pay attention to all your aids!

And finally we have a new student, Jordon! We look forward to working with Jordon!

WE have not listed all of our lesson students, and please do not be offended if we haven't listed you here :) You will get your day in the "blog" ;) We love bragging about our students as they grow and become true Horse

Last Weekend, March 21st and 22nd, we had two more parties. Saturday the 21st was a party at our place; with horses, goats, chester the calf, and lots fo fun fun fun! Everyone seemed to have a great time, and we are proud to have made two little girls very happy with their POny party!

On the 22nd we did pony rides. The little girl was dreaming of a pink and purple pony, so we painted Katy's mane and tail pink and purple! She didnt want to get off her Pink Pony!

Saturday the 7th we have another Birthday Blast! Everyone had a wonderful time.!!!!!!!!!!!

Anne took her first lesson in a few months today, at Cornerstone Farm in Mocksville. Anne is excited to get back to taking lessons for her self, so she can continue her education. She will be taking Calypso sometimes, too.

David and I went trail riding with some Friends at Uwharrie River Farms on Dec. 30 2008. I rode Calypso and David rode Katy. This was Calypso's first trail ride away from home, and with horses other than ours.

Katy has always, did great. She was eager to be out on the trail, and wanted to get the oppertunity to run (her passion is to run!).

Calypso started off well. He unloaded from the trailer, very calm, ignoring the new surroundings - he was not bothered about being in a new location. During the warm up time he was fine, walking around very politely, not talking to the other horses, minding his manners. As we started down the trail, a black walking horse gelding came up beside us - and apparently Calypso did not like this horse, he reared and struck out at him (which took me and David by surprize). Each time that gelding came near Calypso he would rear and strike - almost as if defending Katy. He never offered anything towards the others in the group.  As Calypso settled down, we went along for awhile with no trouble, until we had to cross a creek. Everyone tried to offer advice to get him across, nothing worked, not even Katy Leading him across. Finally I walked right beside him helping him one foot at a Time, with someone leading him - and he got to the creek and leaped across!. The next two creeks we no trouble, after he stopped for a drink! The rest of the ride went very smoothly, and he acted like a seasoned trail horse.

This just proves that horses can do the unexpected, granted Calypso is only 3 and a stallion, but this was completely out of his normal actions. Always be prepared!
